Start-Up and Initial Years
On July 1, 2010 Titan Restaurant Group LLC became a franchisee of Donatos Pizza by acquiring 39 Donatos Pizza restaurants in the Cincinnati and Indianapolis metro areas. The owners of Titan Restaurant Group saw the need for a maintenance function to handle repair and maintenance of the buildings and equipment used by the restaurants. As such, the owners brought on-board industry veteran Robert Barton to create and run the maintenance function for the company. Bob immediately went to work and hired two service technicians, purchased inventory, equipment, and vehicles to service Titan’s restaurants.
Seeing an opportunity to expand the repair and maintenance business beyond its own restaurants Titan began selling it services to other restaurants concepts, primarily corporate-owned Donatos locations in the Columbus OH market, Columbus area Wendy’s stores owned by a Titan investor, as well as various Tim Horton restaurants owned by other investors of Titan Restaurants.
By the beginning of 2011, the maintenance department added technicians in Cincinnati Ohio and Indianapolis Indiana. By the end of 2011 the company had 6 technicians, and was servicing over 120 stores, generating sales of over $1.1 million dollars.
By late 2011, it became apparent that the maintenance department of Titan Restaurants was becoming successful on its own and would be better served as an independent company, separate from the Titan Restaurants and the Donatos brand. At the beginning of 2012 TRG Maintenance was organized as an LLC, versus being a “department” of Titan Restaurant Group. Bob Barton became president and part-owner of the company.
Since the beginning TRG Maintenance LLC has experienced steady growth and now services over 600 restaurant locations in three states. TRG’s technicians have expertise with most types of restaurant food prep and cooking equipment, refrigeration, as well as, building components like HVAC, hoods/exhaust, sinks, restroom fixtures, and various electrical building components.
TRG’s current and past customers include the following concepts: Donatos Pizza, Wendy’s, Tim Hortons, Burger King, Panda Express, Arby’s, Sbarros, DiBella’s Subs, Charley’s Grilled Subs, Starbucks, Fazolis, Smashburger, Buffalo Wild Wings, Whitt’s Frozen Custard and many non-chain food service establishments.
